Some facts about Stuart’s ancestors:

His granddad (Samuel Ingwell) was a genuine Cockney - born just off Mile End Road within the sound of Bow-Bells.
His grandma (Ann - nee Harris) was married three times (two husbands died in the cholera epidemics but her last husband was killed when he fell-off a 10 ft ladder in London dockland).
His other grandma (Mary Ellen - nee Wilson) was born in Rochdale although her father came to the UK from Northern Ireland (at the time of the famine) where he had been trained by his father as a glass blower.
His maternal grandad (Robert Sims) was born in Heage Derbyshire and his G1 grandad (James Tagg Sims) was also born there into a well-to-do farming family (The Taggs of Rownsley Farm - 600+ acres). Unfortunately, G1 grandad James was illegitimate! and although he was born to the eldest son, and supported by the Tagg family throughout his early years, he himself had no rights to an inheritance.
Elizabeth Tagg (nee Wragg) - Stuart's G3 grandma - was buried in Derwent churchyard but was exhumed in 1940 when the valley was flooded to make way for the Ladyblower reservoir (re-interred in Bamford).
